ASHMOLEAN MUSEUM, OXFORD
The Ashmolean in Oxford is the UK's oldest public museum. Its treasures comprise some of the world's great collections of Chinese and Islamic ceramics, Renaissance sculptures, 20th Century European art etc. Among these is a stunning collection of Renaissance silverware. The items were donated to the Ashmolean in 2009 by collector Michael Wellby who specialized in German silver of the 16th and 17th centuries. Nowadays, the pieces are displayed in a permanent Wellby Collection gallery.
For the gallery R[cases] delivered a showcase glazed with non-reflective glass and equipped with an active humidity control system, fiber optic and LED lighting.
